Caring for Mom Together is a website and Radio/internet show on Iwatchradio.com whose purpose is to educate caregivers and aging adults on the senior arena of resources, services and challenges.
Diane Keefe is a professional Geriatric Care Manager (CMC) through the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers. She has seen first hand how challenging caregiving can be and wants to help those who are helping older adults to be more informed and confident about their important contribution to the well-being of seniors. She will interview professionals working in the field of aging services and also caregivers who share their challenges.
Diane became passionate about helping caregivers when her mother had Alzheimer's disease. She and her siblings were trying to help their mother but did not have the appropriate knowledge and resources to do the job they wanted to do. She noted in her practice that family members when faced with a health event or crisis often had no idea where to go for assistance. Through this show, she is hoping to provide a vehicle that can educate caregivers when they need it.
What is Diane looking for? She is asking for caregivers to check out the website; participate in the Caregiver Conversations and make suggestions for what they would like to see on the show. What services would you like to see offered on the website and blog? What do you do to take care of yourself so that you will be effective for the person for whom you are caring? Best of all, check out the UTube link to the show. You can watch it whenever you are free to relax and listen.
